Fee: 1000yen for Elementary and Junior High School, 2000 for High School, General and Wheel Chair, 3000 for Half Marathon participants

We went to the Date Half Marathon again this year. Every year it has been cold, rainy and snowy. This year the weather was beautiful! Everybody was outside on the grass.
This year there was no free onsen ticket. We got a towel, a drink and some Japanese mushroom soup. There were some food stalls selling local goods and snacks like yakitori, takoyaki, sausages, nikuman and mochi with sweet bean paste.
The race started at 10:50 on an azalea lined road to the sound of fireworks. The first water station was at 3km and then there was another at about 7 and then about 12 and then one close to the end. There was only water availble. No sponges or sports drinks. The water was in large paper cups which were half filled. It was enough for a half marathon in pristine weather. For me in running shorts and a running tank, the weather was just right. I got a sunburn though.
As always there was a lucky drawing. I didn't go see what the prizes were. Your race number was the number used. We didn't win anything this year.
